Abstract

The article discusses the scientific and practical foundations of keeping honey bee colonies in modernized hives imported from the Republic of Korea. Colony development, hive microclimate, feed reserves, queen activity, brood area, colony strength and honey productivity are considered as interrelated indicators. The paper substantiates the need to consider not only the structural advantages of a modernized hive, but also heat exchange, ventilation, humidity regulation, reduced disturbance during inspections and lower labor requirements when adapting the technology to local conditions. At the next stage of the study, it is proposed to establish control and experimental groups and comprehensively assess colony strength, brood area, feed reserves, honey yield and overwintering results.
