Abstract

The study investigated the variability of earliness, boll weight, and productivity per plant in cotton varieties C-5709, C-6602, Oqqo'rg'on-2022, Bukhoro-10, and Sulton, as well as in F2 hybrids developed using these varieties. Based on phenological observations and mathematical-statistical analyses, variation series were established. The vegetation period of plants ranged from 96 to 135 days, while the coefficient of variation in F2 hybrids ranged from 2.03 to 2.52 %. The weight of a single boll varied from 4.5 to 8.1 g, whereas productivity per plant ranged from 51 to 130 g. A higher degree of variability was observed in F2 hybrids. The most promising hybrid combinations were identified, and early-maturing, large-bolled, and highly productive plants were selected for further breeding studies.
