The role and importance of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers in cotton nutrition

This thesis analyzes the physiological and agrotechnological significance of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the mineral nutrition system of cotton. The effect of these macroelements on the vegetative and generative development of the plant, photosynthetic activity, root system, formation of crop elements, boll mass, cotton yield and fiber quality is highlighted. The negative consequences of unilateral or excessive use of mineral fertilizers and the need to balance the N:P:K ratio in accordance with soil fertility, planned yield and biological characteristics of cotton are scientifically substantiated.
