Abstract

This article evaluates the biological and economic efficiency of chemical control measures against whitefly in peanut production. The study analyzes the relationship between pest density, chemical treatment costs, yield, the value of preserved yield, additional income, and net economic benefit. The effectiveness of chemical protection was assessed not only by the degree of reduction in whitefly population density but also by the prevention of yield losses and the level of cost recovery associated with crop protection measures. The results indicate that organizing whitefly management based on pest monitoring, economically justifying the timing and selection of chemical treatments, and applying pesticides rationally can contribute to optimizing production costs and increasing the profitability of peanut production. Biological efficacy, yield, additional income, net economic benefit, and profitability were identified as the main criteria for evaluating chemical crop protection measures.
