The article describes the efficient use of rainwater and small flood waters to increase crop yields in dryland areas, the study of the effect of soil moisture depth on the growth and development of agricultural crops based on analysis of long-term climatic conditions, the introduction of a scientifically based optimal farming system, and grain crop rotation schemes-including bare and occupied fallow-taking into account the land conditions, soil and climatic characteristics, and farming activities of farms, all of which create opportunities for increasing soil fertility.
