This article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of credit risk assessment and management in the commercial banks of Uzbekistan based on international standards. Particular attention is paid to modern approaches to credit risk identification, assessment, and monitoring, the recommendations of the Basel Committee, and the impact of ongoing banking reforms on the quality of loan portfolios. The study also discusses the prospects of applying digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and credit scoring systems in credit risk management. Based on the findings, scientific and practical recommendations are proposed to improve the effectiveness of credit risk management mechanisms in the banking sector.
