The effect of onion seedling age and planting dates on yield

Abstract

This study examined the effect of transplant age (25, 35, and 45 days) and planting dates on onion yield. The results showed that the highest yield (62.5 t/ha) was obtained from 45-day-old seedlings planted on September 21–25. A delay in planting resulted in a yield reduction of 10–19%. The findings highlight the importance of selecting optimal planting dates and seedling age in onion cultivation.
