Abstract

This article provides a scientific-theoretical analysis of the role, challenges, and prospects of green economy and sustainable development in the economic progress of New Uzbekistan. The study examines the country's transition processes from a traditional carbon-intensive economic model to a resource-efficient, environmentally sustainable development model. The analyses indicate that although Uzbekistan has taken significant steps in recent years in introducing renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and developing "green" technologies, systemic problems such as insufficient institutional capacity, financial constraints, and a lack of technological innovations persist. Based on international experience and national strategic documents, the article proposes priority directions for the development of the green economy in Uzbekistan.
