The service sector is one of the main drivers of regional economic growth, contributing to employment, entrepreneurship, and improvements in living standards. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, its development is essential for economic diversification and enhancing regional competitiveness. This study assesses the current state of the service sector, identifies the key factors affecting its efficiency, and proposes recommendations for sustainable development. The research employs comparative, economic-statistical, systemic, and structural analysis using official data from the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and regional statistical sources. The results indicate that the service sector has shown stable growth in recent years. However, challenges such as limited digitalization, uneven regional development, low labor productivity, and insufficient investment continue to constrain its performance. The study concludes that improving the efficiency of the service sector requires accelerating digital transformation, strengthening institutional support, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing human capital. The proposed recommendations can contribute to increasing the competitiveness of service enterprises and supporting sustainable socio-economic development in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
