This article examines the methodology for preparing external segment reporting in accordance with the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The study highlights the importance of external segment reporting in providing investors, creditors, and other stakeholders with relevant financial information on different business activities and geographical segments of an entity. The criteria for identifying reportable segments, as well as the procedures for determining and disclosing revenue, expenses, assets, and other key financial indicators by segment, are analyzed. Methodological approaches aimed at ensuring the comparability, transparency, and reliability of segment information are developed. The findings can be used to improve external segment reporting in accordance with IFRS requirements, assess the performance of individual business segments, and enhance the quality of information available to stakeholders for making informed economic decisions.
