The growth of online shopping in Uzbekistan and its impact on consumer behavior

Abstract

The retail sector around the globe is undergoing significant shifts due to its quick growth into digital retailing, with corresponding changes in how consumers purchase goods. Uzbekistan has been witnessing a growing share of electronic commerce as part of its overall digital transformation process, there was a rapid growth of internet penetration, penetration of smartphones, growing e-payment infrastructure and a push by the government to promote digital economy. The purpose of this study is to investigate the trend of online shopping in Uzbekistan and to understand how it is affecting consumer behavior. The qualitative analytical method is applied in the research with the secondary data derived from other academic publications, official statistical reports and international organizations. Data analysis methods such as document analysis, descriptive analysis, and comparative analysis were employed to analyze recent changes in e-commerce in Uzbekistan and to reveal key factors affecting consumers' intentions of online shopping.
